Manjaro, a Linux Distribution based on well-tested snapshots of the Arch Linux repositories and 100% compatible with Arch, is now at version 0.8.5 Pre3.

The third version of the new 8.5 branch of Manjaro comes with an updated pack from the stable-repositories, which includes LibreOffice 4.0.1, Firefox 19.0.3, and Thunderbird 17.0.4.

The developers have implemented new wizards, which will guide the users when installing language translation packages. Users can now also change the system language and keyboard layouts by using the Manjaro Settings Manager.

“To make the keyboard layout setup as simple as possible we created kbctl, a cli-tool you can set your keyboard to american standard with for example followed cmd: ‘kbctl -l us’ – it sets the proper layout for X11 and your console, plus loads it asap,” reads the official announcement.

More details about this release can be found in the official announcement.
