Maia is a management simulator in which the players have to provide the necessary means for a space colony.

The game is inspired by the ’90s god games, like the ones developed by the famous Peter Molyneux, but it also takes advantage of more recent gameplay mechanics.

According to the developer, in 2113 the human race began its first extra solar colonization program. One of the targets of this endeavor was Maia.

Players will have to excavate the ground for the colony, mine minerals for constructions, build rooms to house the people, feed and entertain the colonists and raise defenses to protect them from dangerous wildlife.

The developer, Simon Roth, has sought help on Kickstarter and managed to get enough money to complete his project

Maia is expected to arrive on Linux in the summer of 2013.
