Announced earlier today (May 22nd), the Mageia 2 Linux operating system is powered by Linux kernel 3.3.6 and XOrg Server 1.11.4, with support for Intel Sandy Bridge and Ivy Bridge.
Mageia 2 comes with support for systemd, LVM, Btrfs, ARM, MIPS, extended hardware support, better rescue system, support for serial line installations and from virtual discs, as well as support for hard drives large than 2.2TB.
Among the applications included in Mageia 2 we can mention KDE SC 4.8.2, GNOME 3.4.1, Mozilla Firefox ESR 10.0.4, Mozilla Thunderbird ESR 10.0.4, Google Chromium 18.0.1025.168, LibreOffice 3.5, Opera 11.64, Pidgin 2.10.4, VirtualBox 4.1.12, Wine 1.4, GIMP 2.8, Blender 2.63a, VLC 2.0.1, XBMC Media Center 11.0, and much more.
