14 DAY TRIAL // Developers of Mageia have just announced today, May 31st, that a new wallpaper will be available for users of the Mageia 2 operating system.
Mageia developers had an artwork contest a while back and the winning image made its way into the official Mageia 2 distribution.
As it turns out, the image was not original and the submitted wallpaper was actually just a modified version of a copyrighted material.
After consulting with the original artist, he agreed to change his license in such a way that the users of Mageia 2 will not be infringing on his copyright.
“However, we are rebuilding the ISOs, including the Credits, to include his original artwork – which is beautiful! – and building updates to the necessary rpms."
"So if people download the rebuilt ISOs they will be getting the properly-licensed artwork, and if you have already installed Mageia 2, your system will be updated automatically”, said the developers in the blog announcement.
