MATE, one of the most lightweight and appreciated open source desktop environments used in numerous distributions of Linux, including Ubuntu MATE and Linux Mint, has reached today version 1.10.0, a release that introduces several new features and a great number of improvements.

MATE 1.10.0 includes numerous RandR fixes, adds support for GObject Introspection, adds the org.mate.debug GSettings schema, adds automatic-mnemonics key for GTK xsetting in the interface, and uses the GDK_WINDOW_XID function for inter-GTK compatibility.

Two new classes have been added in MATE 1.10.0. While the first one is called MateColorButton and allows for traditional color selection dialog with GTK3, the second one is called MateAboutDialog and allows for a traditional about dialog with the GTK3 toolkit.

Several components have been removed from this new version of the MATE desktop environment, such as the libunique optional dependency, the user guide, and the desktop-docs package. On the other hand, mpaste has been updated for website change.

Last but not least, the MateRRScreen, GnomeOutputInfo, and GnomeRRConfig classed have been turned into a GObject. The development team of MATE wishes to thank to monsta for helping to test this new functionality. Download MATE 1.10.0 right now from Softpedia.
