Canonical hasn't managed to convince them that Mir is worth the while

Lubuntu’s lead developer has taken a firm stand against the implementation of Mir in the next version of Lubuntu 13.10 (Saucy Salamander).

It seems that a few of the Ubuntu flavors, Kubuntu and Lubuntu so far, will not be joining Canonical in their Mir efforts.

“Steve Langasek confirmed on a previous mail that X will remain for 14.04 for the time frame of the LTS, and I hope it will still be the case with this change.”

“We currently plan to ship X only by default for 13.10 and 14.04 for Lubuntu, with eventually an option to test XMir, to prepare the future,” stated Lubuntu’s lead developer, Julien Lavergne.

Unlike the Kubuntu developers who have been quite adamant in their refusal, Lubuntu’s developers seem more open towards this technology. Users will have to wait until the 14.04 LTS version for a definite answer.
