Lubuntu 12.10 Beta 1 Has Been Released

A lot of visual aspects of the distribution have been improved

Lubuntu 12.10 Beta 1 has also been announced today, September 6th, after the release of  Ubuntu 12.10 Beta 1 (Quantal Quetzal).

Highlights of Lubuntu 12.10 Beta 1:

• A completely new icon theme has been added;
• A new wallpaper and improvements to the current theme have been implemented;
• A selection of community wallpapers has been added;
• Integration of many applications with the new artwork has been improved;
• A new version of the session manager is now available;
• A new version of PCManFM file manager, including at lot of bug fixes, external thumbnailer support, multiple screen support, has been added;
• notification-daemon have been replaced by xfce4-notifyd on the default installation;
• Catfish, a searching utility, has been added to the distribution.
