Quite a few changes made their way into this new version

Lubuntu 12.10 Alpha 3 (Quantal Quetzal) has been announced earlier today, July 26th, by Canonical.

Lubuntu is now at its third Alpha release and Canonical has announced that it has reached version 12.10 Alpha 3, along with its older brothers, Ubuntu 12.10 Alpha 3, Kubuntu 12.10 Alpha 3 and Ubuntu Studio 12.10 Alpha 3.

Highlights of Lubuntu 12.10 Alpha 3:

• A new version of the session manager has been added, including more customization and integration options; • A new version of pcmanfm (file manager) has been added, including a lot of bug fixes, external thumbnailer support, and many more changes; • A new wallpaper and adjusted GTK themes have been added; • notification-daemon has been replaced with xfce4-notifyd on the default installation; • Catfish, a searching utility, has been added.
