It's very unlikely that it will be ported anytime soon

Fallout 4 is the latest installment in the Fallout franchise, and it's developed by Bethesda. The launch date has been set for November 10, 2015, and users are already asking for a Linux version. I think that we can safely assume that it's not happening.

Now that the Fallout has been confirmed, the online community is trying to find the answer to the most important question of all: is the game coming on Linux? There is no definite answer to that, and Zenimax and Bethesda are not known for their forthcoming nature, but it's pretty safe to assume that it won't happen.

Zenimax is the parent company of Bethesda, and it's one of the publishers that have expressed zero interest so far in the Linux platform. Not even a single peep has been heard from them. The best guess is that they are still waiting to see if SteamOS catches on and if they need to jump into Valve's bandwagon.

Unfortunately, they already had a chance with Skyrim or any of the other Fallout titles. It would have been easy to port them or to hire a company like Aspyr or Feral to do the work.

We can't be sure that a Fallout 4 port isn't in the works right now, but if the history is any indication, then Linux users shouldn't not get their hopes up, despite the momentum of the SteamOS and Linux platforms right now.
