OpenRA is an open source project that aims to recreate the classic Command & Conquer and that actually gathers the C&C: Tiberian Dawn, C&C: Red Alert, and Dune 2000 titles under the same roof. A new update has been released for it and it looks like some major new features have been added.

OpenRA has been around for a very some time now and it looks like things are getting a lot more interesting. Some of the latest updates for it have been very consistent and the developers are still making some big changes to the game(s).

"With about 22500 changed lines in just over 300 commits by a total of 25 developers since the last release, the list of new features is naturally a bit shorter than last time around, but it contains some good ones! The standout feature of this release is of course the long-awaited in-game map editor. For the first time ever, we are offering a map editing ability for all our mods, on all supported operating systems," reads the official changelog.

The developers have explained that besides the new map editor, there is also a new map chooser dialog, new building upgrades for the Dune 2000 mod, new six single-player missions have been added to the Tiberian Dawn mod, support powers can now be activated using configurable hotkeys, and numerous other changes have been made.
