Linux kernel 4.0.2 is now available for download on the kernel.org website, and it is the second maintenance release to the stable and most advanced branch of the Linux kernel, version 4.0. This release brings a number of improvements, updated drivers, code cleanup, and bugfixes in various areas.

While a complete list of changes can be found on the kernel.org website, we can tell you that Linux kernel 4.0.2 is here to update numerous drivers, especially for Intel i915, Bluetooth, SCSI, USB, and ACPI, improve the NFS (Network File System) and EXT4 filesystems, and the ARM64 and PowerPC architectures.

Download Linux kernel 4.0.2 right now via Softpedia or directly from the kernel.org website. Those of you who are using Linux kernel 4.0 or 4.0.1 must upgrade as soon as the packages become available on your GNU/Linux distribution.

Alongside Linux kernel 4.0.2, the Linux 3.19.7, 3.18.13 LTS, 3.14.41 LTS, and 3.10.77 LTS kernels have also been published, but all of them without an official announcement at the moment of writing this article. Therefore, we will publish separate articles for each one in the next hours or so.
