Greg Kroah-Hartman has announced the immediate availability for download of Linux kernel 3.4.49 LTS (long-term support).

Linux kernel 3.4.49 comes with just a small number of improvements and changes, just like the previous version.

Highlights of Linux kernel 3.4.49 LTS:

• A system hang issue, that occurred when using KMS with older cards, has been fixed; • The network interface has been blacklisted on Huawei E1820; • The Roland/Cakewalk UM-3G support has been fixed; • The chip detection has been improved for ADM1021, LM84 and MAX1617.

“I'm announcing the release of the 3.4.49 kernel. All users of the 3.4 kernel series must upgrade.”

“The updated 3.4.y git tree can be found at: git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/stable/linux-stable.git linux-3.4.y and can be browsed at the normal kernel.org git web browser: http://git.kernel.org/?p=linux/kernel/git/stable/linux-stable.git,” said Greg Kroah-Hartman in the email announcement.

Users of the Linux kernel 3.4.x branch are urged to update to the new version as soon as possible in order to fix any issues.

More details about the changes in this branch of the kernel can be found in the official announcement.
