Zefan Li announced on April 19 the immediate availability for download of a new maintenance release for Linux 3.4 kernel, an LTS (Long Term Support) version that is still used in many Linux kernel-based operating systems.

According to the attached shortlog, Linux kernel 3.4.107 is a critical release that brings numerous improvements for the x86, PowerPC, SPARC, MIPS, s390, ARM, IA64, PA-RISC, OpenRISC, MicroBlaze, Alpha, M32R, AVR32, CRIS, and many other architectures.

Additionally, Linux kernel 3.4.107 offers better support for dozens of hardware components, as it updates numerous drivers for USB, SCSI, PCI, Wireless, ATA, GPU, SATA, Bluetooth, etc. The usual sound and networking improvements are also there, along with countless filesystem changes, especially for Btrfs, EXT4, Ceph, and eCryptfs.

“I'm announcing the release of the 3.4.107 kernel. All users of the 3.4 kernel series must upgrade," says Zefan Li. "The updated 3.4.y git tree can be found at: git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/stable/linux-stable.git linux-3.4.y and can be browsed at the normal kernel.org git web browser: http://git.kernel.org/?p=linux/kernel/git/stable/linux-stable.git;a=summary"

Download Linux kernel 3.4.107 LTS right now via Softpedia or directly from the kernel.org website. However, if your distribution is using Linux 3.4 kernel, you should wait for the maintainer to update the packages in the default software repositories of the OS.
