Greg Kroah-Hartman has announced a few hours ago, January 15, that the eight maintenance release of the stable Linux kernel 3.12 is now available for download.

When compared with the previous maintenance releases, Linux kernel 3.12.8 is a small update that adds some Arch updates (ARM, PA-RISC, x86), a couple of networking fixes (IPv4 and IPv6), and several updated drivers, especially for networking.

"I'm announcing the release of the 3.12.8 kernel. All users of the 3.12 kernel series must upgrade. The updated 3.12.y git tree can be found at: git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/stable/linux-stable.git linux-3.12.y and can be browsed at the normal kernel.org git web browser: http://git.kernel.org/?p=linux/kernel/git/stable/linux-stable.git;a=summary," Greg Kroah-Hartman said in the official release announcement.

Download Linux kernel 3.12.8 right now from Softpedia. We remind everyone that the LTS Linux kernels 3.4.77 and 3.10.27 were also announced and are now available for download right here on Softpedia.
