The Document Foundation has announced a few minutes ago that the first maintenance release of the stable LibreOffice 4.4 open-source and multi-platform office suite is now available for download. The LibreOffice 4.4.1 release introduces a small number of fixes in order to keep the office suite stable and reliable on all supported platforms.

According to the press release below, LibreOffice 4.4.1 fixes over 100 bugs that were discovered by its developers or reported by users from the previous release, LibreOffice 4.4 “Fresh,” which was announced at the end of January 2015 as the most beautiful LibreOffice ever.

“The Document Foundation announces LibreOffice 4.4.1, the first minor release of LibreOffice 4.4 'fresh' family, with over 100 fixes over LibreOffice 4.4.0. The release represents the combined effort of the over 900 developers attracted by the project since September 2010, with at least three new developers joining the project for 60 months in a row.”

As usual, you can download LibreOffice 4.4.1 for GNU/Linux, Microsoft Windows, and Mac OS X right now via Softpedia, where it is distributed for free as binary packages for DEB and RPM-based GNU/Linux operating systems. The source package is also available for download for those of you who feel a little more adventurous and want to compile the program.
