The game ported by Valve works without a flaw on Linux
Left 4 Dead 2 has been released on Steam for Linux for a few days now, albeit only in a Beta form. We prepared a short screenshot tour of the first level in order to get a glimpse into the future of gaming on the Linux platform.Left 4 Dead 2 is a cooperative survival FPS developed by Valve. It's built on the Source engine, the same one (with a few updates) used in the famous Half-Life 2.
Players will get access to over 20 new weapons and items, and that's without counting the 10 melee weapons like axe, chainsaw, frying pan, baseball bat, and even the Katana sword.
The gameplay is controlled with a new technology pioneered by Valve called the AI Director. This AI generates the right amount of zombies, the proper effects, and it even dictates the music.
More details about Left 4 Dead 2 can be found on the official Steam website.
