Shortly after The Document Foundation announced the release of the latest stable build of LibreOffice 4.2, a new development version is now available for the Ubuntu 14.04 (Trusty Tahr) users.

LibreOffice 4.2.1 RC1 has only been out for a short while, but that doesn't mean you can't get it in Ubuntu 14.04. As you would expect, this can be easily done with the help of a PPA. All you have to do is enter these commands in a terminal near you (you will need root access):

sudo apt-get purge LibreOffice-core sudo add-apt-repository ppa:libreoffice/libreoffice-prereleases sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install LibreOffice

A complete list of changes for this new development version can be found in the official announcement. You can also download LibreOffice 4.2.1 RC1 sources from Softpedia. Remember that this is a development version and it should NOT be installed on production machines. It is intended for testing purposes only.
