Kubuntu 14.04 LTS Alpha 1 (Trusty Tahr) has been released by its developers and integrates a number of very interesting things.

Kubuntu14.04 LTS Alpha 1 (Trusty Tahr) is based on KDE Plasma 4.11 and Applications 4.12 Release Candidate, which is an odd combination. This only means that they are shooting for the 4.12 stable version.

Also, Kubuntu 14.04 LTS will use Firefox 26 as the default Internet browser, the plugins in Gwenview can now be installed on-demand from inside the application, the automatic crash reporting has been improved, and the snapshot includes the 3.12.0.7 Ubuntu Linux kernel, which is based on the upstream v3.12.4 Linux kernel.

Check the official announcement for more details about this release. Download Kubuntu14.04 LTS Alpha 1 (Trusty Tahr) right now from Softpedia.

Remember that this is a development version and it should NOT be installed on production machines. It is intended for testing purposes only.
