Kubuntu 13.04 (Raring Ringtail) will be available on April 25, along with Ubuntu, Xubuntu, and Ubuntu GNOME. We have prepared a short preview of the upcoming distribution.

Kubuntu 13.04 is based on KDE 4.10.2 and incorporates a huge number of improvements over the previous branches of KDE. This means that the distribution will also feature the same changes, making it a lot more advanced that the 12.10 release.

The distribution comes with some pretty interesting changes. Rekonq 2 now supports in-line spell-checking, the Muon Software Center has received an update, the screen management has improved, and even a new font called Oxygen Sans Font has been added.

Kubuntu 13.04 (Raring Ringtail) supports UEFI boot and it's based on the upstream version 3.8-rc6 Linux kernel.

The distribution will also benefit from 9 months of support, which is actually a downgrade from the usual 18 months.

You can also download Kubuntu 13.04 Beta 2 (Raring Ringtail) from Softpedia. When the final version is released, you can just perform a system update to get it.
