The KDE team proudly announced a few minutes ago, November 2nd, the third maintenance release for the KDE Software Compilation 4.7 environment.

Even if there's no official announcement, the new KDE Software Compilation 4.7.3 contains bugfixes and performance improvements for Kwin, including EGL_image or EGL_image_base + EGL_image_pixmap check, opt-out of flipping with GLES, and EGL_NV_post_sub_buffer support.

KDE Software Compilation 4.7.3 also contains bugfixes for the KGeography, Okular and KGpg applications. For a complete list with the bugfixes brought by KDE SC 4.7.3 please take a look at the official changelog.

As usual, because it only contains fixes and translation updates, KDE Software Compilation 4.7.3 will be a pleasant and safe update for all users.

Users of the newly released Ubuntu 11.10 or Kubuntu 11.10 operating systems will be able to upgrade to the KDE Software Compilation 4.7.2 environment in a couple of days.

Until then, download KDE Software Compilation 4.7.3 sources right now from Softpedia.
