With the new KDE 4.11 LTS out the door, the KDE developers are already thinking about the new version and they published the release schedule for the 4.12 branch.

As expected, getting a new KDE release is no small feat, but the developers have proven that they can follow a strict schedule.

The first step in the process is the KDE SC 4.12 Message Freeze on October 30, which means that all translated messages (GUI strings) are frozen on this date.

The Feature Freeze will also be on October 30, along with all the others, and the first Beta should arrive on November 6, followed by the second one a week later, on November 13.

The final version of KDE 4.12 is expected for launch on December 18, and the fifth maintenance release for this branch on April 29, 2014.
