The cause is unknown and the reason could simply be a glitch

Star Wars Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy were announced as open source projects just a few days ago, but the source code has disappeared from SourceForge.

Fans of the Star Wars franchise, and of both games, have hoped that LucaArts would eventually release the titles as open source, but that never happened.

Last week, the LucasArts studio was closed by the new owner, Disney, and on the same day, Activision, the publisher of Star Wars Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy, has made them available for everyone.

Both projects were hosted on SourceForge and the repositories worked for a while. One of our readers has brought to our attention that the downloads are no longer working.

The projects still seem to exist, but the files can’t be accessed. So far, it looks like a technical difficulty, or the projects are being updated.

We will keep you informed about this issue.
