Suricata, a high-performance Network IDS, IPS and Network Security Monitoring engine that is open source and owned by a community-run non-profit foundation – the Open Information Security Foundation (OISF), is now at version 2.0 Beta 1.

According to the developers, this is the latest and the most advanced version of Suricata, implementing a large number of features and changes.

Highlights of Suricata 2.0 Beta 1:

• Luajit flow vars and flow ints support has been added; • DNS parser, logger and keyword support has been added; • libhtp has been updated to version 0.5; • CUDA support has been improved.

A complete list of changes and new features is available in the official changelog. Suricata is developed by the OISF, its supporting vendors and the community. This means that the developers need the active support of the community in order to improve the software.

Download Suricata 2.0 Beta 1 right now from Softpedia. Remember that this is a development version and it should NOT be installed on production machines. It is intended for testing purposes only.
