Samhain, a host-based intrusion detection system (HIDS) which provides file integrity checking and log file monitoring/analysis, as well as rootkit detection, port monitoring, detection of rogue SUID executables, and hidden processes, is now at version 3.0.13.
Samhain 3.0.13 was designed to monitor multiple hosts with potentially different operating systems, providing centralized logging and maintenance.
Highlights of Samhain 3.0.13:
• The detection of the nonfunctional /dev/kmem has been fixed;
• A race condition in the GrowingLogfiles policy, that caused spurious reports, has been fixed;
• A compiler warning has been fixed in bignum.c.
A complete list of changes and updates can be found in the application's changelog. More details about this project can be found on the official website.
