Samhain, a host-based intrusion detection system (HIDS) which provides file integrity checking and log file monitoring/analysis, as well as rootkit detection, port monitoring, detection of rogue SUID executables, and hidden processes, is now at version 3.0.11.

Samhain 3.0.11 was designed to monitor multiple hosts with potentially different operating systems, providing centralized logging and maintenance.

Highlights of Samhain 3.0.11:

• A compilation error was fixed on HP-UX; • Reconnecting to the database for Oracle is again possible; • The ability to create Debian packages with a preset password has been added; • The option KernelCheckProc (bool), to suppress kernel /proc test, has been added.

A complete list of changes and updates can be found in the application's changelog. More details about this project can be found on the official website.
