Following our previous articles, Ubuntu Cities Scope, Ubuntu Grooveshark Scope, Ubuntu Calculator Scope and Pirate Bay Torrents Lens for Unity, today we are introducing the Ubuntu Google Books Lens for Unity.

Ubuntu Google Books Lens is a Unity Launcher plugin that will allow users to quickly search for digital books stored locally in ~/Documents and Calibre database, as well as Google Books and other several online libraries.

To install the Unity Lens Google Books plugin in your Ubuntu operating system, open a terminal window (hit the CTRL+ALT+T key combination) and paste the following command lines (one by one, hitting Enter after each one):

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:davidc3/books-lens

sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install unity-lens-books

You'll have to restart your session after the installation. Be aware that it is available only for Ubuntu 11.10 (Oneiric Ocelot) and Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin).
