Ubuntu Calculator Scope is a Unity Dash plugin that will allow users to quickly do basic arithmetic operations directly from the search field of the Unity Dash, like addition, multiplication, subtraction and division.
To install the Unity Scope Calculator plugin in your Ubuntu operating system, open a terminal window (hit the CTRL+ALT+T key combination) and paste the following command lines (one by one, hitting Enter after each one):
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:scopes-packagers/ppa
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install unity-lens-utilities unity-scope-calculator
You'll have to restart your session after the installation. Be aware that it is available only for Ubuntu 11.10 (Oneiric Ocelot) and Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin).
