Ground Pounders, a hex-based, turn-based strategy title developed and published by Kerberos Productions Inc. on Steam has just received Linux support.

Ground Pounders is a game inspired by other titles like Panzer General, but it's being developed by the guy who brought you Sword of the Stars, which means that the gameplay has been infused with modern features.

The game can be bought and played, but Ground Pounders is still in the Early Access Game program, which means that it's still under development. You can expect more than a few bugs, but at least it's playable and the Linux support arrived before the final version.

Players will get to control the Human or Hivers armies, more than 80 unique units, build airfields, fortify areas, repair or destroy bridges, have access to unique combat card decks, and more.

The game has very low system requirements and even if they haven't been posted yet for the Linux platform, they can't differ too much from the ones on Windows: a Core2 Duo or equivalent processor, 2 GB of RAM, a graphics cards with 512MB of VRAM, and 3GB of available HDD space.

More details about the Ground Pounders turn-based strategy can be found on the Steam website.
