Michael Prokop has announced yesterday, September 11, that the first Release Candidate version of the upcoming Grml 2013.09 Linux distribution, a bootable live system based on Debian, is available for download and testing.

Dubbed Hefeknuddler and powered by Linux kernel 3.10.10 and Debian Wheezy, Grml 2013.09 RC1 comes with up-to-date hardware support and fixes known bugs reported by users from previous releases.

Among the new features added to Grml 2013.09 RC1, we can mention that a new boot option called encpasswd has been added, the grml-hwinfo tool supports IProute's IP tool, and French keymap support was added to grml-lang.

Download Grml 2013.09 RC1 right now from the developers. Remember that this is a development release and it should NOT be installed on production machines. It is intended to be used for testing purposes only.
