Greg Kroah-Hartman, a Linux kernel maintainer and Linux Foundation Fellow, has spoken recently about the just released Linux kernel 3.3 and the Raspberry PI mini PC.

In an interview with linux.com, Greg Kroah-Hartman has emphasized once more the importance of migrating from the old Linux kernels, more specifically from 2.6.32.58 which is no longer supported, to the 3.x series.

He didn't wanted to go again over the arguments sparked by this decision, but he mentioned that the average Linux user should not perceive any difference, and that the developers and compilers of kernels should have an easy task.

He also spoke about Raspberry PI, the mini PC sensation that sold out in one day and that was even hotter than Lady Gaga in terms of Internet search trends.

Greg Kroah-Hartman regretted the fact he couldn't manage to get his hands on one of the Raspberry PIs, but said he already is in line to get one from the next shipment.

He also expressed his hope that the Raspberry PI developers will push their kernel patches into the mainline kernel.org release soon, so that everyone can take advantage of their hardware.
