Gparted Live, a small bootable GNU/Linux distribution for x86-based computers that can be used for creating, reorganizing, and deleting disk partitions with the help of tools that allow managing filesystems, is now at version 0.17.0.

Gparted Live 0.17.0 can be installed on CD, USB, PXE server, and hard disk, then run on an x86 machine.

“This release marks the first time that Gparted can resize some file systems (btrfs, ext3, ext4, jfs, lvm2 pv, nilfs2, reiserfs, and xfs) while these are online (mounted). A big thanks goes to Phillip Susi for the updates needed to enable online partition resizing. This release also includes a number of bug fixes and language translation updates,” reads the official announcement.

According to the changelog, Linux kernel has been updated to version 3.11.10-1, Linux Swap Suspend and Software RAID partitions are now recognized, and the resize2fs progress bar has been enabled.

A complete list of new features and bug fixes can be found in the changelog. Download GParted Live 0.17.0 right now from Softpedia.
