Google Chrome, a browser built on the WebKit layout engine that aims to be minimalistic and versatile at the same time, is now at version 28.0.1485.0 Dev.

The Dev channel has been missing for some time now, but the Google developers have decided to add a new Chrome version, 28, marking the start of another branch.

Highlights of Google Chrome 28.0.1485.0 Dev:

• The DEPS references have been removed in order to empty the LayoutTest directories; • Failing browser_tests on Linux chromiums have been corrected; • An UMA has been added for the glibc version; • The correct tinted icons are now used in the GTK+ theme mode.

A complete list of bug fixes and changes can be found in the official changelog.

Download Google Chrome 28.0.1485.0 Dev right now from Softpedia. Remember that this is a development version and it should NOT be installed on production machines. It is intended for testing purposes only.
