Google uploaded last evening, January 10th, the first development version of the upcoming Google Chrome 18 web browser for Linux, Macintosh and Windows platforms.

Among numerous fixes and improvements, Google Chrome 18 fixes an important startup issue with the Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 operating system and its derivatives.

Another interesting fix in Google Chrome 18 is about Native Client applications, which should now work on Linux distributions like Gentoo, where /dev/shm is mounted with the "noexec" option.

Download Google Chrome 18.0.1003.1 right now from Softpedia. Remember that this is a development release and it should not be installed on production manchines. It is intended for testing purposes only.
