GhostBSD, a FreeBSD-based operating system with the GNOME desktop environment, is now at version 2.5 RC1.

This the first Release Candidate announced for Ghost BSD 2.5, but it was initially planned to ship on October 18th. The RC3 was supposed to be released on December 28th, but we can't really blame them as they specifically said that versions might slip to a later date. The final version will probably be released by the end of February 2012.

Highlights of GhosBSD 2.5 RC1:

· Fixed Pitivi on the i386 arhitechture; · Fixed free space output on the GUI and TEXT BASE installer; · The third install option on the TEXT BASE installer is now available; · Brasero is fixed for the root, on amd64 platform. Developer's advice is to not add data on normal user.

Download GhosBSD 2.5 RC1 right now from Softpedia. Remember that this is a development release and it should NOT be installed on production machines. It is intended to be used for testing purposes only.
