Sabayon Linux 13.08, an operating system designed for Linux enthusiasts who want the latest packages and the best performance, but don't want to spend days getting things working properly, has been released and it's available for download.

Believe it or not, Sabayon is actually based on Gentoo. Very few major distributions still use Gentoo as a base and it's nice to see one with the quality of Sabayon getting updated on a regular basis.

Linux Kernel 3.10.4 with BFQ iosched, updated external ZFS filesystem support, GNOME 3.8.4 finally , KDE 4.10.5, MATE 1.6.2, Xfce 4.10, LibreOffice 4.1, UEFI SecureBoot for 64 bit images (with bundled UEFI shell), systemd as default init system, are just a few of the changes that we can expect from the latest Sabayon Linux 13.08.

As usual, the distribution has been released with quite a few flavors, including GNOME, KDE, MATE, and Xfce. Check the official announcement for more details about this OS.
