The developers of Gedit, the official text editor of the GNOME desktop environment, announced a couple of days ago the immediate availability for download and testing of the first Beta release of the upcoming Gedit 3.10.

Besides miscellaneous improvements and fixes, which are too insignificant to mention, Gedit 3.10 Beta 1 implements regular expression search, thanks to Sebastien Wilmet.

Also, the following translations have been updated in this first Beta release of the upcoming Gedit 3.10 text editor: Czech, German, Hungarian, Italian, Brazilian Portuguese, Slovenian, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Norwegian Bokmal, Hebrew, and Thai.

Gedit 3.10 will be part of the upcoming GNOME 3.10 desktop environment, which will see the light of day on September 25, 2013. For more details, please check the official raw changelog.

Download Gedit 3.10 Beta 1 right now from Softpedia. Remember that this is a beta version and it should NOT be installed on production machines. It is intended for testing purposes only.
