Gas Guzzlers Extreme, a combat racing game developed Gamepires and published by Iceberg Interactive on Steam, will finally get a Linux version.

The developers of Gas Guzzlers Extreme have been hinting at a Linux version for their game for quite some time, and the support on the official forums from the community has been strong since the game's release back in October 2013.

Gas Guzzlers Extreme has a substantial 60% discount during this weekend, until March 17, but only the Windows version is being displayed. The developer chose to announce the fact that they are working to port the game and the DLCs when they talked about the new discount.

“Fellow Croatian Studio Gamepires is working on both a Linux version and two new sets of DLC for Gas Guzzlers Extreme, showing an ongoing commitment to its spectacular combat racing game. Go check it out,” said the developers in a short press release.

This is very good news for the players because there are virtually no games in this genre, on the Linux platform. Even if the game is not yet available on Steam for Linux, you can still buy it and you will be able to play it when it becomes available.

More details about Gas Guzzlers Extreme can be found on the Steam for Linux website.
