GTK+ 3.13.4, a multi-platform toolkit for creating graphical user interfaces that provide a complete set of widgets, suitable for projects ranging from small one-off tools to complete application suites, is now available for download and testing.

This GTK+ version is one of the biggest ones released so far in this development cycle and it looks like the developers are really trying to improve this toolkit.

According to the changelog, the Adwaita theme support is now much better, Shadows, reliefs, and frames in GtkScrolledWindow, GtkViewport, GtkButton, GtkEntry, GtkFrame, etc. are now translated to style classes and themed, the gtk_application_prefers_app_menu is a new function to facilitate the adoption of UIs to platform expectations, and GtkApplication has set up a resource path for loading icons as well.

Also, the scrolling in response to user input (scrollbar clicks, keynav) is now animated, the displacement animation has been replaced with edge gradients, the orientation is now changed on the fly to make the popup fit into small windows, the activity mode progress is now smooth, and GTK+ now ships a simple icon theme browser called gtk3-icon-browser.

A complete changelog featuring all the updates and fixes can be found in the official announcement. You can download the GTK+ 3.13.4 sources right now from Softpedia.

Remember that this is a development version and it should NOT be installed on production machines. It is intended for testing purposes only.
