GStreamer, a development framework for creating applications such as media players, video editors, and so on, has finally reached version 1.0.5.

The GStreamer project has announced that a new API and ABI-stable 1.x series, which makes up the GStreamer multimedia framework, has been released.

Highlights of GStreamer 1.0.5:

• A GST_BIN_FLAG_NO_RESYNC flag that disables a resync when an element is added, removed or linked in the bin, has been implemented; this is interesting for complex bins that dynamically add elements to themselves and want to manage the state of those elements without interference from state resync threads (which may cause deadlocks); • OTHER clock type has been added; • M_CONFIG_HEADER has been replaced with AC_CONFIG_HEADERS in configure.ac; • GST_BIN_FLAG_NO_RESYNC and GST_CLOCK_TYPE_OTHER APIs have been added.

A complete list of architectural changes, new features and updates can be found in the official changelog.
