The GNOME Project announced last evening, September 4th, the immediate availability for download and testing of GNOME Shell 3.6 Beta 2.

This is the second and last Beta release of the GNOME Shell 3.6 user interface for the highly anticipated GNOME 3.6 desktop environment and includes many improvements and bugfixes.

Among some of the interesting changes brought by this release, we can mention better scrollbar theming, better modal dialog styling of network secret prompts, pre-edit support to StIMText, better style and placement of the "No results" text, and the power status icon disappears if no battery is present.   The GNOME 3.6 desktop environment will be released on September 26th, 2012.
