The GNOME developers announced recently that the second development release of the upcoming GNOME Settings Daemon 3.12 package, a daemon run by all GNOME sessions to provide live access to configuration settings and the changes done to them, was available for download and testing.

GNOME Settings Daemon 3.11.2 fixes a possible crash on exit and allows export of a GtkShellShowsDesktop setting in XSettings, allows Power keys in more places, fixes interaction with multiple MPRIS clients, and makes the Pause key work for MPRIS clients.

Moreover, GNOME Settings Daemon 3.11.2 no longer disables animations, unless it runs on a remote display. For more details about this development release of GNOME Settings Daemon, please check the official raw changelog.

Download GNOME Settings Daemon 3.11.2 right now from Softpedia. Remember that this is a development version and it should NOT be installed on production machines. It is intended for testing purposes only.
