GNOME Control Center, GNOME's main interface for the configuration of various aspects of your desktop, is now at version 3.14 Beta 1 and it's ready for testing.

The GNOME Control Center allows users to configure various components of their system using a vast collection of tools. It's the hub for all the major settings that can be done in a GNOME environment, so it's easy to see why any update for it might be considered important.

The developers have explained that the “Details” button for virtual profiles is no longer present, a suggestion to automatically set reverse bindings is now available, the broken configuration entries for the network are now shown in red, it's now possible to create a WPA protected AP hotspot, and the network icon names for newer versions have been fixed.

Also, the location setting for Privacy has been added, support has been added for the default disabled search providers, and a crash in media preferences has been fixed.

A complete list of changes, updates, and bug fixes can be found in the official changelog. You can download GNOME Control Center 3.14 Beta 1 right now from Softpedia.

Remember that this is a development version and it should NOT be installed on production machines. It is intended for testing purposes only.
