The upcoming GNOME 3.8 desktop environment will allow users to easily connect to their ownCloud and Flickr accounts, via the GNOME Online Accounts app.

GNOME Online Accounts 3.7.1 was released a couple of weeks ago, but no one noticed that it implemented the OAuth 2.0 authentication protocol for Google, and support for the ownCloud and Flickr services.

The stable GNOME Online Accounts 3.6.2 version was also announced two days ago, on November 13, bringing fixes to various issues, as well as lots of updated translations.

GNOME 3.8 will arrive on March 28, 2013, and it will incorporate lots of nice features, among which we can mention Python 3 porting, color tinting and focus-caret tracking in GNOME Shell, port GNOME Shell to use XI2, and much more.
