This version introduces a revamped design and new apps
As expected, the GNOME Project has officially announced the GNOME 3.10 desktop environment a few minutes ago, September 25, 2013, even though the project's packages were available for download for a couple of days now.GNOME 3.10 introduces a revamped system tray with a unified panel that displays network connection settings, brightness and volume sliders, battery controls, as well as shortcuts for system settings and functions.
GNOME 3.10 also introduces new applications like Maps, Music and a dedicated Software Center tool, from where users will be able to install, uninstall and update GNOME exclusive packages. Initial Wayland support is also available in this release.
