The FrostWire BitTorrent client, an application that allows users to download files from P2P networks and play media files, has been upgraded to version 5.7.7.

FrostWire comes with all the features that you might expect from this sort of client, like BitTorrent and Magnet Link support, Wi-Fi sharing, a media player, and even embedded search.

Before getting the application installer, users should know that it's based on Java, which needs to be installed on the system in order to make this application work.

The developers have upgraded the application and numerous fixes and improvements have been made. For example, a new VPN connection status indicator has been implemented into the interface, users can now stop media playback with a single button, Frostwire no longer freezes when the user opens a magnet link for the first time, an issue with pixel translucency on Linux has been corrected, and a lot of other fixes have been made.

If you want to install the application right away or if you just want to update it, you will need to enter these commands in a terminal near you (root is needed)

code
sudo wget http://dl.frostwire.com/frostwire/5.7.7/frostwire-5.7.7.all.deb
sudo dpkg -i frostwire-5.7.7.all.deb
sudo apt-get install -f
