A regression has been corrected with this update as well

Canonical has revealed that the previous update for Firefox has introduced a regression for Ubuntu 12.04 LTS, Ubuntu 14.04 LTS, and Ubuntu 14.10. A new version of the browser has been released and now the users can also upgrade their Firefox browser.

It happens from time to time to push a regression along with all the regular updates. It's nothing serious and it's usually repaired pretty quickly. The same is true for the latest Firefox package. This has been corrected now.

"USN-2458-1 fixed vulnerabilities in Firefox. This update introduced a regression which could make websites that use CSP fail to load under some circumstances. This update fixes the problem," is noted in the security notification. You can check the original report regarding USN-2458-1, but it's mostly full of rather boring fixes.

Upgrading to the latest version of Firefox can be done very easily with the regular Software Update, but you could also use the terminal if you want things to move a little faster. It also helps users see what other packages are being upgraded.

Open a terminal and enter the following commands:

code
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
You can also download Firefox 35.0.1 from Softpedia, although it's just a binary version that can't be installed or used to upgrade the already present version.
