The latest version of Firefox comes with quite a few improvements

Mozilla has officially announced that the second maintenance release in the Firefox 18.x branch is now available for download.

The new Firefox 18.0.2 for Linux comes with some pretty interesting features and new updates, especially related to performance and stability. Highlights of Firefox 18.0.2:

• JavaScript related stability issues have been repaired; • Problems involving HTTP Proxy Transactions have been fixed; • Disabled HIDPI support when using external monitors to avoid rendering glitches; • Faster JavaScript performance via IonMonkey compiler; • Preliminary support for WebRTC has been implemented; • Better image quality has been achieved with new HTML scaling algorithm; • Performance improvements around tab switching have been implemented; • Support for new DOM property window.devicePixelRatio has been added; • Support for W3C touch events implemented, taking the place of MozTouch events, has been added.
