Zbigniew Konojacki has had the pleasure of announcing the immediate availability for download of the final and stable 4MLinux 12.0 and 4MLinux Allinone Edition 12.0 distributions.

According to the short release notes, the 4MLinux/4MLinux Allinone Edition 12.0 distributions are now based on the GNU C Library 2.21 and powered by a Linux kernel package with Physical Address Extension (PAE) enabled by default.

"The status of the 4MLinux 12.0 series has been changed to stable," says Zbigniew Konojacki on the blog announcement. "Major modifications in the core of the system, which now includes the GNU C Library 2.21. Additionally, PAE support has been enabled in the Linux kernel."

Among other changes included in the final 4MLinux and 4MLinux Allinone Edition 12.0 Live CDs, we can mention that the pre-installed Internet browsing software has been significantly improved, meaning that Links is the default web browser in the basic version of 4MLinux.

On the other hand, 4MLinux Allinone Edition 12.0 includes Qupzilla as the default web browser, and Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, and SeaMonkey web browsers are available for download via so-called downloadable extensions.

With the exception of Links, all the web browsers mentioned above come with Flash Player support. The Asunder Audio-CD ripper and aTunes audio player applications have been added.
