The developers have fixed all the major issues

The Fedora project is preparing to release the latest Fedora 21 version of the operating system and the team has nailed down the release date.

Fedora 21 has had a bumpy ride until now and the devs had to push back the launch date by a few weeks. This might seem a problem, but it's actually not. The Fedora team sets a few dates for various milestones, but they are not fixed and the devs will break those dates of they feel they can improve the distribution.

"We are now in the 'Final Freeze' for Fedora, the last polishing period before the release. This means that packages updates are only allowed via a special exception process, as we work to deliver a solid, stable release to our users on December 9th," says the leader of the Fedora project, Matthew Miller.

So, as it stands right now, the final version of Fedora 21 should arrive on December 9 and basically all the problems have been resolved. It's very unlikely that it will be pushed back even further.

In the meantime, if you're curios, you can download the latest Fedora 21 Beta release and see if you like it. The distro has a Live CD ready, so it should be pretty easy to test.
