Fedora 19 "Schrödinger's Cat" was released back in April 2013 and it looks like its time is almost up. The end of life is approaching fast for this distro, and users should upgrade.

The operating system comes from a time when Fedora still named their releases. Schrödinger's Cat was one of the most benign and it didn't really cause any kind of stir in the community, although others were more renowned for their crazy codenames. In any case, the support for Fedora 19 "Schrödinger's Cat" is about to end soon.

A short message about the impending end of life for the OS has been posted on the official forums. "This is a reminder email about the end of life process for Fedora 19. Fedora 19 will reach end of life on 2015-01-06, and no further updates will be pushed out after that time. Additionally, with the recent release of Fedora 21, no new packages will be added to the Fedora 19 collection," it reads.

The latest Fedora 21 was released just a few days ago and it's one of the best in the series. If you have an older version, this would be a great time to upgrade. You can download Fedora 21 right now from Softpedia.
